Pizzeria Vesuvio originally opened its oven doors on 25th October 1987 at 44-46 High Street, Clapham, Beds and was already one of Bedford's Premier and Oldest Family Run Italian Restaurants. Whilst we evolved into one of the largest restaurants in Bedfordshire, with the ability to serve up to 200 patrons, we succeeded in maintaining its intimate dining atmosphere and versatility to serve our customers, however with the move to the brand new premises off the A6 at Park Lane in Sharnbrook on 31st October 2006, the possibilities have become endless… |

Massimo Ciampi, Restaurant Manager, explains: "We thrive on being able to provide our customers with a service for every occasion. Our new VesuviO restaurant offers our customers so much more than what we could previously offer and our aim is to give a unique dining experience. Since 1987, we have been hosts to a variety of celebrations ranging in size from family birthday parties to weddings and corporate events, and with the new VesuviO and The Amalfi Suite, the reservations for weddings, private banquets & celebrations are constantly coming in. Our future is very exciting and we welcome our customers to share the excitement with us.”
VesuviO, The Amalfi Suite & The Sharnbrook Hotel are fully owned and independently run by the Ciampi family. In October 2007 we celebrated 20 years of VesuviO, and with 5 members of the family running the business for the past 22 years, we have over 100 years of catering and hospitality experience within one family.
We are open every day for Coffee, Lunch, Evening Meals from 11am to 11pm. Every Friday night, VesuviO welcomes a live Italian Singer to enhance the Italian experience by entertaining you during your meal – this is on us! Just book in as usual and enjoy the evening with a choice from our popular à la carte menu. Every Sunday you can experience family dining VesuviO style with a Sunday à la carte which hosts our famous £7.95 All Day Sunday Roast as well as authentic Italian options to choose from - always something for everybody.
If you are planning any kind of get together or celebration, our shortened à la carte menus are available and these can also be personalised to detail your event, all you have to do is ask! Private Dining and private celebrations can be hosted in The Amalfi Suite subject to availability and separate menus/options are available. We prefer to meet with you and discuss your requirements, tailor your event to your needs as well as provide you with suggestions and advice, after all we do this week in week out. As a family business, you will find our service during preparations and during the event both attentive and professional.
